The deadline is approaching for all those involved in the management of Nursing Care Beds to
ensure compliance with the recent MHRA National Patient Safety Alert. We have prepared the
information below to assist you in your activities.
All Invacare’s Community and Nursing Care beds, and optional accessories meet the British,
European, and international standard for adult medical beds ‐ BS EN 60601‐2‐52:2010+A1:2015.
Please note, it is emphasised that this standard is for individuals over 146cm in height, exceeding
40kg in weight, and with a BMI of more than 17.
For children's medical beds a specific standard, BS EN50637:2017 standard applies.
